Edie Adams, actress an singer, one of the greatest blond beauty, passed away in her 81.
Her publicist said that her death is a result of pneumonia and cancer. She died in a Los Angeles hospital on Wednesday.
Her best movies are “The Apartment”, “Lover Come Back” , “The Honey Pot”, “Under the Yum Yum Tree”, “Call Me Bwana”, “The Best Man” , “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World” … She was success on Broadway, too. Her career outlast more than 6 decades!
She was married to comedian Ernie Kovacs who died in early 1962. After that she was in debts and some of the famous people tried to help her to raise money for her and her children. But Edie Adams refused that help saying: “No! I can take care of my own children!”
Beside Ernie Kovacs, Edie was married to photographer Martin Mills and trumpeter Pete Candoli. She suffered one more disaster in her life. One of her two children, daughter Mia Kovacs killed in an accident in 1982.
After several hard periods of her live she stood on her own foots and did well. She worked in Las Vegas, in TV shows, and in some movies. There is a well-known comment about her : “There are some things Edie won’t do, but nothing she can’t do!”
