The most famous couple in the world, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is planning to donate $2 million to support fight HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis in Ethiopia, the born - country of their daughter Zahara,3.
That money will be used for building hospital, actually center for children affected by the disease. There will be organized a program to treat tuberculosis in children and adults. The center will be builded in the capital city of Addis Ababa and will be called for Zahara.
To explaine how big is this problem we would say that the African nation has 1.7 million people infected with HIV and 6,000 people infected with drug-resistant tuberculosis, and that is surely more than overmuch.
Brad Pitt said : “It is our hope when Zahara is older she will take responsibility of the clinic and continue its mission”
The couple also donated huge summ of money for building the Maddox Chivan Children’s Center in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, named after their adopted son who is from Cambodia. This project were successful and just since February 2006, it has provided medical treatment, education and social services to children affected by HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis.
Angelina Jolie told the press: “Our goal is to transfer the success we have had in Cambodia to Ethiopia, where people are needlessly dying of tuberculosis, a curable disease, and HIV/AIDS, a treatable disease!”
